The
Supplemental Portfolio for non arts majors

Above: From the Supplemental Portfolio of A.M.,  Brentwood High School, General Studies.

Supplemental Portfolio for Non Art Students

For students with exceptional and recognized talents in visual arts or music, there are very good reasons to submit samples of work for consideration in the admissions process , ie.: submit a supplemental portfolio.   Students do not need to plan on majoring in musical or fine arts disciplines in order to submit a portfolio.

Supplemental Portfolios are not required, and they are just that, Supplemental. Many high school students are not aware of the fact that colleges accept Supplemental Portfolios.  A strong Supplemental Portfolio can play a major factor in college admission results, because it can reveal strengths and experiences in ways that grades and test often fall short. A Supplemental Portfolio can clarify a student's story and unique character, giving their application extra edge.
