The Prep for Art method:
Unpack
Generate
Synthesize
Fine-Tune

"Bluecast", From the portfolio of Annabel H.

Unpack
We create visibility on all of a student's current work, interests, projects, ideas, concepts, other related work, and interests beyond “art" - no matter what stage it is in, and what discipline. The extensive intake meeting is designed to establish this process.

Generate
If needed, we help students generate new work, based on what is revealed during the “unpacking” phase, and the criteria and guidelines for the portfolios for each art program. This could include developing observational drawings, developing new projects based on a student's interests (revealed as part of the “unpacking” process), completing further iterations of already existing work, etc.

Synthesize
Taking stock of all work, we help students decide what to include in their portfolio, determine the optimal presentation of each project (especially with work that is not two dimensional: sculptural, interdisciplinary, mixed media, installation, performative, etc), create documentation.

Fine-Tune
We help students meet all portfolio requirements for each specific school, submit the completed portfolio onto the required platform, ensuring all technical specs and content criteria are met.
