For over a decade Linda Pollack has passionately guided students in crafting their college art portfolios. Her expertise spans a wide range of programs, including art, design, architecture, fashion, photography, animation, media arts, graphic novel, product design, communication design, art history, curatorial studies, and more. The fruits of her labor are evident in the numerous acceptances her students have received from esteemed institutions such as UCLA, Columbia University, Cornell, Rhode Island School of Design, The School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Syracuse University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas Austin, University of Miami, Goldsmiths College (UK), Oxford University (UK), and the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program, among others.
Beyond portfolio coaching, Linda is a practicing artist deeply exploring civic culture. Her projects have been showcased at prestigious venues such as the UCLA Hammer Museum, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, The International Festival of Art and Ideas, the Torrance Art Museum, and Kansas State University, reflecting her active involvement and commitment to the art community.
Linda's artistic journey has taken her across borders, with exhibitions in The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Poland, Belgium, and Romania. Her diverse educational background includes a BS in Finance from Penn State University, a diploma in visual arts from the Jan van Eyck Academy in the Netherlands, and a Fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany. She further honed her skills in the New Genres program at UCLA, under the guidance of James Welling and Paul McCarthy, and completed her MFA from UCSD, where she studied with Steve Fagin. Her expertise in developing multilateral cultural projects was nurtured during her tenure at the Amsterdam-based European Cultural Foundation, where she launched APEXchanges, the Foundation’s first European mobility fund for promoting exchange among artists and arts administrators between former East and West Europe. In response to the war in the former Yugoslavia, Linda spearheaded a series of arts and cultural initiatives to promote pluralism and democracy, collaborating with Theater Director Haris Pasovic, the Sarajevo Festival Ensemble, and Macedonian rockers Leb i Sol, among others.
