Prep for Art
Prep for Art's lead portfolio coach is Linda Pollack. Linda's expertise covers visual art, architecture, design, photography, fashion, film, curatorial studies, media studies, art theory, and history. Her students have been accepted to RISD, Parsons, NYU, Cooper Union, FIT, The School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, Cornell, Syracuse, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas Austin, University of Arts London, Glasgow School of Art and Oxford University, among other institutions.
Linda studied art in The Netherlands at the Jan van Eyck Academy, in Los Angeles and in San Diego at UCLA, and UCSD. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a residency at Schloss Solitude of Stuttgart Germany. Linda's work addresses issues of public space, civil society, architecture, and constitutional democracy. She has exhibited in and received commissions from institutions both in the U.S. and abroad, and has guest lectured for the art departments of UCLA, USC, Otis College of Art and Design, The Evergreen State College, Cal Arts, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design among others. Linda has served on numerous review panels including the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Cal Poly Pomona School of Landscape Architecture, Woodbury University School of Architecture, 18th Street Arts Center, and the Department of Cultural Affairs of Santa Monica. Linda is a Professional Member of the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling (WACAC), and the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC).
